What does DGT stand for?
DGT stands for Da Gurlz Translationz
How did it come about?
Well, there was one fine day on 24th Nov, 2002, around 9pm when ^FuNKy^, Kaila and jestagal were getting bored. We decided to start a group which releases shoujo manga. After all shoujo needs to be shared about!
Can you translate _____ for me?
Maybe yes, maybe no. :) well DGT tries to translate more of shoujo mangas since there are too many shounen manga sites around. We thought that we should give more attention to the females out there who is in DIRE need of good mangas. (So girls.. this is for you.^^)
What language do you gurlz translate from?
We translate manga from Japanese or Traditional Chinese language.
How often does DGT release chapters?
Our priorities has changed over the years and unfortunately we don't have that much free time was we used to. Now we just do scanlations for fun. This means that our release won't be on a consistent schedule anymore. If you don't like this then I would sincerely suggest that you scanlate mangas on your own.
When will _____ be released?
When the time is right. This means that we would not prefer to get emails or messages asking if we can release ____ chapter. (in short: NO HARPING) We at DGT work hard on the chapters that we release. (This means: more than 3-4 hours of cleaning editing, checking.) For just numerous people doing it, these processes take a lot of time. So again we would appreciate it if we would not get harped by you :)
Why haven't you translated ______?
Most probably because we don't have the scans for that ^^;; DGT as of the moment has no source of income (sadly ~~) So all the raws and scans we have are what we can find. If you want to, you are welcome to donate scans to us, (as long as its a shoujo manga) and we'll be glad to do it for you. :)
Hi! We're from this french/spanish/german/italian group and we want to scanlate your projects!
We are currently making a new decision regarding this matter. For this year 2008 we will allow the use of our scans for different languages. However we would appreciate if you can email us the details of the project that you want to do. ALSO it is MANDATORY that you credit us for the original work and link every translated scans back to us, please use the Credit logo's that we've attached per chapter for this purpose and link your website back to us. If you are able to do that then you are free to use our scans. We will also not be responsible if another group is currrently doing the same project as you are (as its a hassle to keep track of everything).
So if your interested in doing a series please do the following:
1. Email us which series you plan on doing and in which language.
2. Place our website address on your site, it doesn't necessarily need to be on your main webpage, it can be on the actualy project page that you are using our scans for.
3. Credit DGT for the original scans and translations (you can do this by attaching the credit logo that we use on per chapter of every release that we make.
4. Please DO NOT take credit for the scans if they're really not from you. :( I hate it when people say that they credit themselves using our scans, I have a big appreciation for all of those people who volunteered their time, effort and mangas to help us create scanslations. The very least they should be credited for their efforts.
5. Take note that this not apply to joint projects, as you would need to ask the other group's permisson to use their scans before we give our consent.
6. Lastly please limit your request to a minimum, just 1-2 titles. It won't do anyone any good if a particular group hogs all the project. I know how scanlations work takes so I'm pretty sure it takes a bit of time to finish a series. Once your done you can always request for another title.
Can I help out?
Of course! We need help with distributing our releases on http. You can also email us here if your interested in hosting our mangas.
